Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Patient Access Associate to support daily operations in a fast-paced health system environment. You will handle patient registrations, verify insurance details, collect payments, and coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes compliance with HIPAA and CMS guidelines, bilingual communication in English and Spanish where needed, and accurate documentation across EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in customer service in healthcare beneficial.
• Familiarity with insurance benefits and payer communications.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
• Creates estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or arranges plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations as required.
• Registers patients for services and ensures accurate demographic and insurance data.
• Provides excellent customer service and documents conversations with patients and payers.
