Job summary

ACCESS Community Health Network is seeking a patient services coordinator in Chicago to handle inbound calls, pre-register new patients, and schedule appointments in the Epic EMR system. You will verify insurance, triage inquiries, and ensure HIPAA compliance while delivering courteous, efficient service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of health-care customer service experience, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years’ relevant experience in customer service (health care preferred).
• Willing to work flexible hours.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills.
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls in a courteous, professional, efficient, and prompt manner.
• Pre-registering new patients into the Epic EMR system
• Schedule patient appointments using the Epic EMR system
• Verify patient insurance/benefits, as appropriate
• Respond to patient inquiries and complaints
• Direct patient phone calls to the appropriate destination when beyond scope
• Complete outbound calls to patients to schedule future appointments
• Return patient calls/messages and provide additional information as necessary
• Adhere to all HIPAA and ACCESS policies regarding patient privacy
• Other duties as assigned
