BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Houston, TX to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes in a busy plasma center.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety, with involvement in safety programs and incident management.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
• Current CPR and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
• FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Mansioni

• Determine donor eligibility; include informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance criteria; conduct physical examination, blood testing, and review SPE results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; coordinate with Center Physician for guidance.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical issues; ensure donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required; follow EHS guidance.
