Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda company, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Houston, TX. You will determine donor eligibility, review tests, and notify donors of unsuitable results while supporting center operations under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will handle donor safety, adverse events, and vaccination program support in a regulated plasma collection environment. EHS compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and nursing-related education as required by state.
• Current EMT-Paramedic licensure in the assignment state.
• CPR and AED certifications in good standing.
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy as applicable.
• Complete BioLife Medical Support Specialist FDA training.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion and medical history.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer for medical guidance to Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and escalation as required.
