Job summary

Walla Walla Public Schools seeks a Civil Rights Compliance Coordinator to support Head Start operations and ensure equitable access to education. The role involves assisting teachers, supervising children, and helping with instructional activities and materials.

The coordinator will promote cultural competence, communicate with students, staff, and families, and coordinate with district staff to maintain a welcoming environment and uphold civil rights standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • AA degree, 72 college credits, or ability to pass Federal Para-Educator test.
  • Preschool CDA or state credential meeting CDA requirements, or enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with facilitating learning centers and providing instruction in small groups or one-on-one.
  • Supervise children inside and outside the building.
  • Assist in preparing instructional materials for classroom use.
  • Support young children with social skills and behavioral needs.
  • Maintain weekly records and assist with personal hygiene and classroom cleaning.
