Job summary

Walla Walla Public Schools in Washington state is seeking a Substitute Para-Educator to support certificated staff and assist students during on-call assignments. This is a part-time, on-call role designed to provide instructional support across core subjects.

You will help students with reading, writing, math, and language development, attend to program needs, and model positive behavior. A high school diploma or GED is required; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

• Experience with students in educational settings preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff by providing instructional support in reading, writing, math and language development.
• Work with students under supervision to support academic skills and language development.
• Help develop and use teaching aids and materials.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction.
• Assist in assessing students and monitoring progress.
• May assist with personal hygiene needs in special education classrooms.
