Job summary

New Milford Public Schools seeks an MLL Tutor to support multilingual learners for the 2026-2027 school year. The tutor works under the supervision of the MLL Coordinator and teachers to assist students in classroom and lab settings.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree, strong verbal and interpersonal communication, and a commitment to student confidentiality. Experience in a public school is desirable, with documents required for application.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality about issues related to children and families.
• Experience working in a public school desirable.
• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist MLL students in mainstream settings.
• Provide academic and organizational assistance with classwork and homework.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to clarify concepts.
• Help students organize materials for class, labs, or projects.
• Communicate with teachers, administrators, and staff regarding student progress.
• Assist with modified tests or quizzes as directed by teachers.
• Focus on skill-building such as note-taking, outlining, and study skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by teachers or administrators.
