Job summary

New Milford Public Schools seeks an MLL Tutor to support multilingual learners for the 2026-2027 school year. The tutor works under the supervision of the MLL Coordinator and teachers to assist students in classroom and lab settings.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree, strong verbal and interpersonal communication, and a commitment to student confidentiality. Experience in a public school is desirable, with documents required for application.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist MLL students in mainstream settings.

• Assist with modified tests or quizzes as directed by teachers.

Multi Lingual Learner Tutor

Specifications:

The MLL Tutor works in cooperation with and under the supervision of the MLL Coordinator and teachers.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist MLL students in the mainstream area settings.
• Provide academic and organizational assistance in the completion of classwork and homework assignments.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to help clarify difficult academic concepts presented by the teacher.
• Assist students in the organization of materials needed for class or during labs or projects.
• Communicate with teachers, administrators, pupil personnel staff or others with regard to student performance and progress.
• Administer modified tests or quizzes on behalf of the classroom teachers.
• Focus on skill-building with students, such as note-taking, outlining, graphic organizers, computation, study skills, etc.
• Assume other such duties and assignments as may be requested by the teachers or administrators.
