Excel Academy Charter Schools in Massachusetts is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse to lead and manage the school health program. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and community providers to protect and promote student health.

Using the nursing process you will develop individualized care plans, deliver health education, and support students’ wellness. The role requires flexibility, teamwork, and dedication to equity and high-quality education.

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health nursing, or pediatric nursing.
• Preference for applicants who share language or background with students (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic) and a commitment to Excel Academy’s mission.
• Commitment to addressing racial and economic inequity in education.

Responsabilités

• Establish and manage a comprehensive school health program consistent with Massachusetts guidelines and Excel Academy policies.
• Collaborate with professionals, team members and community providers to plan, implement, and evaluate health programs.
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans using the nursing process with students and their families.
• Promote student wellness through health education and promotion.
• Apply nursing theory to decision-making in the school setting and participate in ongoing learning.
• Serve as a productive member of the Excel community.
• Depend­ing on campus, assist with medical supports (transfers, toileting assistance) and daycare care in emergencies.
