Job summary

Positive Impact Health Centers is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to greet patients, schedule appointments, maintain records and accounts, and keep the front desk organized to ensure a welcoming environment for our patients.

The role requires an Associate Degree with at least two years’ medical front office experience, strong communication and confidentiality, and proficiency with EMR systems; knowledge of medical billing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree and minimum of two years’ experience in a medical front office environment.
• Experience with basic medical billing knowledge is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Answer multiple phone lines in a professional and courteous manner and route calls appropriately.
• Check in patients and complete patient registration.
• Manage patient flow by providing timely check-in procedures upon arrival.
• Instruct new patients in completion of medical information forms and ensure completeness.
• Update forms for established patients (Consent, HIPAA, Financial, Demographics).
• Maintain accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information.
• Scan insurance cards and driver’s licenses for new patients and annually for existing patients.
• Collect copays, deductibles, coinsurance and past due balances.
• Post payments, provide receipts, reconcile daily receipts, and prepare deposits.
• Promote the patient portal and protect patient confidentiality.
• Support medical coding and billing tasks for non-insurance claims as assigned.
• Contact patients monthly regarding past due balances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
