Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a non-exempt medical office front-office employee in San Antonio. The role centers on greeting patients, handling phones, scheduling, data entry, and insurance verification within the physician practice.

You will collect co-pays, post charges, manage referrals, and support patient portal enrollment while upholding HIPAA and corporate policies. A medical office assistant program is preferred and a two-year customer service background is desired.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
• High school diploma or GED required; medical office assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients entering the physician practice.
• Answer office phones, make, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Check in patients, collect demographics, enter data into the system, verify insurance.
• Assist in check-out, referrals, and scheduling.
• Collect co-pays and post charges.
• Perform charge entry and patient balance processing.
• Distribute information about office policies and the practice.
• Explain and enroll patients in the patient portal.
