Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant (Bilingual Spanish) to join our patient-focused care teams. The MA will gather medical information, support providers with clinical assessments, and assist in routine diagnostics to enhance patient experiences.

Responsibilities include managing patient flow, taking vital signs, preparing tests, and collaborating with care teams to improve outcomes. This role requires relevant MA certification, EMR experience, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• State or national certification (as required by state) or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer programs (Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel).
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow; room patients, take vital signs, complete screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records to specialists).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests per state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers as needed.
• Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control and medication/supply expiry checks.
