Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Float (Bilingual Spanish) to gather patient information, assist providers, and support care teams in a fast-paced clinic. Expect flexible duties, a strong team environment, and a focus on patient experience.

The ideal candidate demonstrates MA certification, 1 year of MA experience, CPR/BLS, EMR proficiency, and comfort with multiple software tools. Fluency in Spanish is preferred to support diverse patients in Chicago.

Qualifications

• State or national certification as required by state, or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word/Google Docs, Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.
• Strong preference for three+ years MA experience.
• Mastery of MA workflow and flexibility.
• Phlebotomy or geriatric experience as preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow: room patients, record vital signs, complete screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory and stock exam rooms.
• Provide telephonic support for patient requests (lab results, records, etc.).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests per state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment and request records as needed.
• Conduct routine quality control and infection control checks.
