Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school (externship verification of 6 months' clinical (back office) MA experience may be submitted in lieu of externship)

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, height and weight; plot growth charts; record immunizations
• Assist clinicians with examinations and procedures
• Apply and remove bandages and dressings; assist with ortho appliances
• Perform simple lab tests such as visual acuity, audiometric screening, Snellen tests, spirometry and EKGs
• Set up instrument trays for special procedures and rooms for clinician use
• Provide counseling, health education and translated instructions as needed
• Administer injections and venipuncture under supervision
• Maintain electronic patient records and ensure accuracy of information
• Review and schedule preventive health maintenance per schedule
• Print and distribute EM Coding Reports for clinicians
