Job summary

Vista Community Clinic in Oceanside, CA is seeking a certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses, take vitals, assist in examinations, and handle routine procedures. The role includes patient translation (English/Spanish), maintaining electronic records, and assisting with injections and basic lab tasks.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Clinical Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved program (externship verification preferred).
• Externship verification may be submitted in lieu of externship.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and assist in medical examinations.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist clinicians with the examination and/or procedure.
• Maintain electronic patient records and charges to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Provide confidential, culturally sensitive language translation for clinician and patient (English/Spanish).
• Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections and perform venipuncture under supervision.
• Wash, wrap and autoclave instruments and manage infectious waste per guidelines.
• Assist in minor surgery and other procedures under clinician supervision.
• Support the clinic in maintaining patient flow and proper room setup.
