Job summary

The Pima County Public Library is hiring Library Technical Assistants to support customers, assist with technology, and help run daily operations at multiple library locations in the Tucson area.

Typical duties include helping patrons with catalogs, databases, digital downloads, and self‑service tools, troubleshooting public computers, and handling routine transactions. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum one (1) year experience in a library setting.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in customer service.
• Minimum two (2) years experience with technology (email, eBooks, Microsoft Office, personal devices).
• Experience using an integrated library system (ILS) such as Sierra, Polaris, SirsiDynix, Millennium, Alma, Symphony, Horizon, Carl, or Apollo.
• Experience using a cash register and handling money.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish - speaking, reading, writing).

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service by working directly with the public, answering telephone calls, sending electronic communications, interpreting and relaying library policies and procedures; resolving complaints; and providing technical assistance with library equipment and software.
• Assists the public in the use of library resources and services including the catalog, databases, online accounts, digital downloads and self-service technologies.
• Troubleshoots and maintains library computers and coordinates with IT staff to resolve issues.
• Assists library users with personal devices and technology including common web-based platforms, operating systems, software, and applications.
