Job summary

South Middlesex Opportunity Council (SMOC) Behavioral Health seeks an Intake Specialist to set up intake appointments for new clients and coordinate with SMOC programs to streamline access to services. The role emphasizes bilingual communication and timely documentation in the EHR.

The position involves front-desk support, client communication, and collaboration with clinical directors, with a hybrid work arrangement that includes in-office and remote scheduling options.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word skills required.
• Experience with authorizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist programs and clients in person and over the phone in setting up diagnostic evaluations with an appropriately skilled provider at SMOC Behavioral Health.
• Maintain and update daily admission log of all intakes.
• Manage and deliver weekly waitlist to the Clinical Directors, make periodic contacts to clients awaiting services.
• Communicate with referring parties by email and phone who are inquiring about the status of clients waiting to be seen.
• Work with directors as needed for programs requiring specialized documentation of new clients or referrals.
• Maintain up to date knowledge of clinician's areas of specialization and availability working with clinicians and their supervisors.
• Document all necessary client demographics and billing information.
• Enter all new clients into the electronic health record.
