Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an HR Specialist in Houston to ensure payroll accuracy and smooth timekeeping workflows across the organization. You will support onboarding, compliance, and confidential handling of information, collaborating with managers to keep processes running efficiently.

You will troubleshoot Paylocity questions, assist with prevailing wage reporting (LAUSD) and ensure timely submission of payroll paperwork while maintaining sensitive data responsibly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of human resources experience.
• Basic to intermediate Excel experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience with California employment laws (Onboarding, payroll).
• Certified payroll/prevailing wage experience.

Responsibilities

• Payroll & Timekeeping: Review weekly timecards for accuracy, completeness, and required documentation.
• Partner with managers to resolve discrepancies and hit approval deadlines.
• Collect signed timecards, meal premium forms, and other required paperwork.
• Prepare and distribute weekly payroll and approval summary reports.
• Serve as the go-to Paylocity resource — troubleshooting issues and training managers and employees on best practices.
• Maintain phone reimbursement and uniform deduction records.
• Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll: Prepare labor-tracking reports to monitor prevailing wage hours and costs.
• Maintain supporting documentation for prevailing wage payroll.
• Prepare and submit LAUSD certified payroll reports on time, every time.
