Job summary

Responsibilities

• Collect signed timecards, meal premium forms, and other paperwork.
• Prepare and distribute weekly payroll and approval summaries.
• Serve as Paylocity resource and train managers/employees on best practices.
• Maintain reimbursement and uniform deduction records.
• Prepare labor-tracking reports for prevailing wage hours and costs.
• Maintain documentation for prevailing wage payroll.
• Prepare and submit LAUSD certified payroll reports on time.

Position: Bilingual HR Specialist

Location: Houston, TX (Onsite)

Employment Type: Direct Hire

Hours: M-F 8-5pm

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 / Annually DOE

Job Description

We're looking for an HR Specialist to be the go-to resource for payroll accuracy, timekeeping, onboarding, and compliance - helping us maintain a workplace where employees are supported and processes just work.

In this role, you'll partner closely with managers and employees, troubleshoot Paylocity questions, and play a key part in our prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting (including LAUSD certified payroll). If you enjoy solving problems, working with confidential information responsibly, and being the person people trust to get things right, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

Payroll & Timekeeping

• Review weekly timecards for accuracy, completeness, and required documentation
• Partner with managers to resolve discrepancies and hit approval deadlines
• Collect signed timecards, meal premium forms, and other required paperwork
• Prepare and distribute weekly payroll and approval summary reports
• Serve as the go-to Paylocity resource — troubleshooting issues and training managers and employees on best practices
• Maintain phone reimbursement and uniform deduction records

Prevailing Wage & Certified Payroll

• Prepare labor-tracking reports to monitor prevailing wage hours and costs
• Maintain supporting documentation for prevailing wage payroll
• Prepare and submit LAUSD certified payroll reports on time, every time

Attributes

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Working knowledge of employment and wage-and-hour requirements
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Comfort working cross-functionally with managers and employees at all levels
• Experience with Paylocity or similar HRIS/payroll platforms a plus

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of human resources experience
• Basic to intermediate Excel experience need (manual reporting)
