Job summary

Suzanne Snell Human Resources & Recruiting on behalf of our client seeks an experienced HR Generalist to support a high-volume retail store environment in San Francisco, CA. Fluency in English and Chinese is required.

Responsibilities include serving as the primary HR resource for store leadership and employees, managing employee relations, investigations, performance and leave administration, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience in high-volume settings
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and wage/hour rules
• Experience handling employee relations investigations and workers' compensation cases
• Bilingual English/Chinese; PHR-CA certification preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR resource for store leadership and employees
• Manage employee relations, workplace investigations, and performance management
• Ensure compliance with Federal, California, and local employment laws
• Support Workers' Compensation claims, leave administration, and return-to-work programs
• Advise managers on corrective actions, policy interpretation, and employee matters
• Promote a positive, productive, non-union work environment
