Job summary

Vaco is seeking a hands-on Bilingual HR Generalist for our Vernon, CA operation. This direct-hire role is onsite five days a week and reports to HR leadership. You will own HR functions end-to-end, from recruiting and employee relations to payroll support and compliance, across multiple locations.

Ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in HR, experience in manufacturing or distribution, Spanish fluency, and solid knowledge of California labor laws. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of HR Generalist experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or logistics environments preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish (fluent or highly proficient) required.
• Able to independently own HR functions with minimal oversight.
• Strong background in employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance.
• Working knowledge of California employment law, including Labor Code and leave laws.
• Hands-on payroll processing experience and HRIS usage.
• Highly organized with strong priority management across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting across departments, from posting through offer letters.
• Serve as first-line HR contact for employee relations, workplace concerns, and investigations.
• Administer performance management cycles.
• Own HR compliance initiatives, policy updates, audit prep, postings, and wage/hour requirements.
• Maintain employee records and reporting through Paylocity HRIS.
• Support payroll review and processing as needed.
• Coordinate required training programs and track completion.
• Occasional travel for the role.
