Job summary

Community Action of Washington County is seeking a Community Resource Advocate II for our Community Connect program. This in-person role works directly with clients to connect them with housing resources and essential services, guided by Housing First principles and trauma-informed practices.

The position requires full bilingual Spanish proficiency, a high school diploma or equivalent with 6+ months of customer service experience, and experience with data entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Fully bilingual in Spanish (verbal and written) is REQUIRED.
• Experience with data entry.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse professionals and social service agencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to equity, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver participant-centered, in-person services at the Community Connect office.
• Conduct face-to-face and telephonic assessments for homeless or at-risk households for programs in Washington County.
• Participate in a rotation of duties, including walk-ins and supporting team members.
• Potentially engage in street outreach to build relationships with unsheltered individuals.
• Determine eligibility and referrals to Washington County housing programs.
• Accurately enter client information into the database.
• Explain and encourage use of services for basic needs, health, mental health, and housing.
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace, preserving confidentiality and efficiency.
