Job summary

Jobot is seeking a hands-on Production Manager for a premier food manufacturer in Vernon, CA. The role focuses on leading first- and second-shift operations, spending about 80% of time on the production floor to coach supervisors, support employees, and ensure safe, efficient production.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required. You will shape production processes, drive continuous improvement, and work with cross-functional teams to meet daily goals and longer-term operational objectives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive production management experience, including leadership within food manufacturing.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Stable employment history demonstrating increasing responsibility.
• Proven ability to lead from the production floor and develop supervisors/leads.
• Experience creating SOPs, improving processes, and managing production performance.
• Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, quality, labor planning, and cost control.
• Proactive, strategic problem-solving and long-term planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production across first and second shifts, ensuring safety, quality, sanitation, productivity, and cost control.
• Maintain floor presence, provide hands-on direction to production teams.
• Develop and implement SOPs aligning daily operations with company expectations.
• Coach and develop leads and supervisors with clear expectations and accountability.
• Foster teamwork and effective shift handoffs across departments.
• Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Shipping, Procurement, HR, and others to address production needs.
• Anticipate staffing, equipment, material, and scheduling challenges and take preemptive actions.
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce waste and labor costs.
