Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks a Family Advocate EFSP to support children and families by providing advocacy and in-home services. You will work with clients and partners to help them live safely in the community.

The role requires Spanish proficiency, CERAP certification (or progress toward it), and a Bachelor's in human services with 2+ years of experience. Evening/weekend hours may be required; strong driving record and insurance needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services required; MA preferred.
• CERAP certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• 2+ years of direct service experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.
• Advanced Spanish language skills are highly required.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports, represents, and extends the mission, vision, and values of NYAP.
• Assists clients in applying for Guardianship of their minor relatives or fictive kin.
• Provides in-home supportive services, referrals, advocacy, and other social interventions.
• Travels to family homes for intakes and safety checks; assists with guardianship applications including fingerprinting.
• Maintains compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Completes and submits all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Keeps complete programmatic records.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
