Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) is seeking a Youth Worker for La Jornada to positively impact families through advocacy and support. You will work closely with youth and families to guide them toward targeted goals, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment and providing leadership during the program.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year in child welfare, and bilingual English/Spanish communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year employment in child welfare or related field.
• Bilingual English/Spanish fluency.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patient, empathetic, and able to provide emotional support to minors.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in care with line-of-sight.
• Build trusting relationships with youth and help achieve goals.
• Provide leadership and a warm, safe atmosphere for youth.
• Complete required trainings and documentation on time.
• Maintain positive attitude with youth, families, and staff.
• Travel as program demands.
