Job summary

Western Heights Public Schools seeks an Emergent Bilingual (ELL) Paraprofessional to support EB students under the supervision of the EB teacher and the school principal.

Responsibilities include assisting in the regular classroom (translation, lesson planning, accommodations), coordinating parent contacts, supporting state testing, and helping with inclusion and behavior in daily lessons.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Complete Para Pro or Workkeys assessment or complete 48 hours of college.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Parent Contact: call parents, arrange conferences, and share progress.
• In regular education classroom: translate documents, plan lessons, and assist EB students.
• State Testing: monitor testing under guidance of school staff.
• EB Classroom: support daily lessons, translate material, assist with behavior and attendance.
• Professional Development: support a positive cultural learning environment.
• Other Performance Measures: maintain safety, dress standards, and cooperative attitude.
