Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Bilingual Paraprofessional to support English Language Learner students under the guidance of the classroom teacher. The role focuses on bilingual instructional assistance to develop language proficiency and academic achievement across core subjects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 60 college credits or an associate degree.
• Proficiency in speaking, writing and reading English and Spanish; bilingual.
• Typing and computer use skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse students and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist ELL students under the guidance of a Title III Intervention Teacher.
• Provide bilingual instructional support to develop English listening, speaking, reading and writing.
• Assist with assessments and track student progress toward language and academic goals.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain student records as directed by supervising staff.
• Communicate with students, teachers, and parents to support progress and engagement.
• Uphold confidentiality and student safety; participate in professional development.
