Job summary

Broken Arrow Public Schools seeks an interpreter/translator to support English language learners across classrooms, labs, assemblies, parent conferences, IEP meetings, and school activities. You will work to equalize the target language with the source language to enhance learning and accessibility for students.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and able to interpret and translate between English and other languages as needed.
• Must be adaptable to student schedules and maintain confidentiality and professionalism with parents and school staff.
• Experience working with students and multicultural settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides interpreting and/or translating services in the educational environment across classrooms, labs, field trips, assemblies, conferences and events.
• Works to equalize the target language with the source language to maximize learning opportunities for students.
• Coordinates with teachers and staff to schedule interpretation support during the school day.
• Assists with translating instructional materials and tutoring students individually or in small groups under supervision.
• Supervises students during bus loading, lunch, and other areas where interpreting support is needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with district staff and the public.
