Montgomery Public Schools is seeking an ESL paraprofessional to translate and support communication for parents, guardians, and staff. The role includes assisting in providing ESL services and family literacy training, and translating written communications for Spanish-speaking families.

The position supports teachers and administrators, with a focus on facilitating effective交流 and parental engagement within the school community.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or the Equivalent, or passing scores on a WorkKeys test.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

Responsabilités

• Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce skills introduced by the teacher.
• Perform clerical and record-keeping duties as assigned by the principal and teacher.
• Operate and care for equipment and materials used in assignments.
• Report to the teacher any problem or special information about students.
• Keep all information concerning school business, students, and personnel confidential.
• Observe students during in-school and community-based activities and environments.
• Assist with translating written communications from central office administrators and staff into Spanish for parents of ELLs.
• Assist with ESL parent workshops and family literacy training sessions.
• Provide translation services for teacher conferences and parent meetings as requested.
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by an administrator.
