Job summary

YES Prep in Houston, TX is seeking an Elementary Bilingual Special Education Manager to lead a campus SPED team, coordinate IEP services, and ensure compliant instruction for students with disabilities. You will partner with the Principal and instructional leaders to set annual SPED goals, coach teachers, design inclusive curricula, and deliver professional development.

This 11‑month, on‑site role offers competitive compensation and growth in a mission‑driven school network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in Special Education.
• Fluent in Spanish.
• Hold a standard Texas teaching certification in Special Education.
• Hold a Texas Bilingual certification within the first school year of employment.
• Belief in YES Prep mission and core values.
• Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback.
• Demonstrated ability to work on a team.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and initiatives at once.

Responsibilities

• Set Special Education objectives and key results for the year in alignment with campus priorities and data-driven strategies.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals and standards-based assessments.
• Sit on the campus leadership team to plan action steps for rigorous, accessible learning for all students.
• Collaborate with instructional leaders to maintain a vision for co‑teaching and rigorous instruction.
• Design and apply curriculum adaptations for students with disabilities alongside general education.
• Support teachers in setting and monitoring IEP and growth goals.
• Co-observe and coach SPED staff to differentiate instruction and improve outcomes.
• Share best practices in differentiation and problem-solving for students with learning needs.
• Coordinate with General Education staff to identify SPED needs and accommodations.
• Deliver professional learning on DI, specially designed instruction, behavior management, and inclusive practices.
• Plan and deliver instruction aligned to YES Prep curriculum for students with significant needs.
• Develop and coach the implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans and Student Safety Plans.
