Job summary

YES Prep in Houston, TX seeks a Teaching Assistant to support Special Education and General Education teachers across instructional settings. The role involves supervising students, modeling positive behaviors, and maintaining data for IEP goals and behavioral plans.

The position is 10-month and offers hourly compensation with opportunities for professional growth within a mission-driven school network. Candidates should be prepared to support varied learning needs and adapt materials

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Interest in working one-on-one with a student with significant needs, including medical needs.
• Ability to physically assist students with self-help, mobility, academic, and behavioral skills.
• Commitment to YES Prep mission and core values.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and juggle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education and General Education teachers with supervision of students in all instructional settings.
• Assist with behavior management by modeling and reinforcing desired behaviors.
• Maintain data as identified by teachers, student IEP goals, and Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Tailor lessons to meet individual student needs.
• Support lesson planning by practicing and reinforcing concepts.
