Job summary

SFUSD is seeking an Instructional Aide – Elementary Basic Skills, Spanish to support kindergarten through elementary students with math, reading, science, social studies and writing.

You will assist in planning lessons, prepare materials, supervise small groups, administer tests and maintain pupil records in a supportive classroom. This permanent, part-time role follows the school calendar; Spanish fluency is required and collaboration with teachers is essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher OR 48 college units and a high school diploma.
• Passing CBEST and a high school diploma OR passing the Instructional Aide Exam and a high school diploma.
• Spanish fluency (reading, writing, and verbal translation) is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning lessons and preparing instructional materials.
• Supervises and tutors individuals or small groups of pupils in specific skill areas.
• Administers tests, reviews and corrects work, and maintains pupil profiles.
• Maintains instructional equipment and supplies and supports classroom management.
