Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking an Educator for La Jornada to maintain a positive educational environment and develop programs addressing cognitive and emotional needs of children. You will work with Assistant Educators to ensure education, health, well-being and parental involvement across enrolled students.

The candidate will create age-appropriate curricula, plan weekly lessons, and assess progress while ensuring safety and adherence to program requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood or elementary education.
• TESL certification paid by NYAP.
• 2+ years teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop developmentally appropriate programs for students.
• Create weekly lesson plans and activities.
• Assess children's needs and adjust plans accordingly.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Educators in classroom.
• Ensure safety of all children in the program.
• Participate in on-call schedule as needed.
• Help recruit participants to meet goals.
• Document attendance and progress as required.
