Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks an Assistant Educator for La Jornada in Tucson, AZ. The role supports teaching staff, helps develop lesson plans aligned with state standards, and collaborates to monitor each child’s progress.

Ideal candidates hold an Associate degree in education or ECE, are bilingual in English and Spanish, and bring 2+ years of classroom experience with minority children. Must be 21+, with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in education and/or early childhood education (preferred).
• ECE certification preferred.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional with minority children.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish; Spanish fluency required.
• 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing lesson plans based on state requirements and student needs.
• Collaborate with Lead Educator to monitor academic progress.
• Deliver daily lesson plans and support classroom operations when the teacher is absent.
• Work with individual children to promote learning and development.
