Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program in Chicago seeks an Assistant Educator for La Jornada to support teaching staff and monitor the progress of the children on a daily basis.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans aligned with state requirements, collaborating with educators to track academic progress, and delivering daily plans while supporting the classroom when the teacher is absent. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in education and/or early childhood education required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish; fluency in Spanish is required.
• 2+ years' experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional with minority children.

Responsibilities

• Perform work consistent with NYAP's mission and values.
• Assist in developing lesson plans based on state requirements and children's needs.
• Collaborate with educators to monitor academic progress.
• Deliver daily lesson plans and support classroom operations when the lead teacher is absent.
• Work with individual children to promote learning and development.
