Job summary

The Hermiston DMV is seeking a bilingual Transportation Services Representative 1 to assist the public with driver licenses, vehicle registrations, permits and license plates. You will administer knowledge and vision tests, ensure correct fees are collected, and provide information on regulations and policies.

Training is provided to use vehicle laws and agency rules. Fluency in Spanish is required, with reading proficiency noted in the application.

Qualifications

• Two years of public contact/customer service experience; computer data entry/ retrieval.
• Experience handling money and making change.

Responsibilities

• Assist the public with driver licenses, vehicle registrations, permits and license plates.
• Administer knowledge and vision tests for drivers; interpret results.
• Collect fees and provide information on regulations and policies.
• Prepare and issue photo licenses, permits and IDs; conduct behind‑the‑wheel tests.
• May perform relief work at other DMV offices and handle privacy‑law compliant duties.
