Job summary

Compass Connections is hiring for an on-site role at the All Boys Shelter in El Paso, TX. The worker will supervise children, implement safety protocols, and maintain a secure campus environment while documenting activities and incidents.

Applicants should have a high school diploma (associate degree preferred) and 1 year of experience in child welfare or related human services. CPR/First Aid/EBI certifications are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred or two years of college in related field.
• 1 year of employment in child welfare or related human services field; CPR/First Aid/EBI certifications advisable.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines applicable to this position.
• Document all serious incidents and daily progress accurately and timely per agency policies.
• Assist with orientation of new children and staff.
• Provide input into development of treatment plans as appropriate.
• Use positive child management techniques including verbal redirection and de-escalation.
• Plan, organize and supervise activities for children per daily schedule.
• Teach life skills and facilitate language development and personal hygiene.
