Customer Service Specialist Job Description

Customer Service Specialists work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend suitable solutions. They are also responsible for promptly resolving customer concerns, ensuring maximum client satisfaction, staying updated on product features, and maintaining high store standards. The role involves achieving excellent customer service while meeting sales goals.

The selected individual will work at Store #3302 located at 11194 Veirs Mill Road, Wheaton, MD 20902, and Store #5292 at 9104 Baltimore Ave, College Park, MD 20740, with possible assignments at nearby stores within a 10-mile radius in Montgomery County, MD.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assist customers in person and over the phone by identifying needs and recommending products and services
  • Build trust-based relationships with customers
  • Process sales transactions accurately following company policies
  • Achieve sales goals consistently
  • Maintain accurate work order files and formulas
  • Pull products from shelves or warehouse
  • Tint and mix products to customer specifications
  • Stock shelves and set up displays
  • Clean store equipment and assist with deliveries as needed
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable areas
  • Stay knowledgeable about products and discuss options with customers
  • Follow inventory control procedures
  • Suggest improvements to sales processes
Minimum Qualifications
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
  • Proficient in English and Spanish
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally, with or without accommodations
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least one year of experience in retail, delivery, or customer service
  • Experience selling paint and related products
  • Experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
