Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot (OSJL) in Rhode Island seeks a Sort Deck Operator for its 1.3 million square foot DC to ensure continuous conveyor operation, safety, and compliance. You will inspect equipment, clear jams, and coordinate with the Conveyor Manager to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Ability to use a walkie-talkie.
• Some proficiency with Google platform (Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

Responsibilities

• Complete regularly scheduled inspections and coordinate with the Conveyor Team to keep the system operating.
• Identify stoppages visually and use the conveyor computer system to rectify, ensuring continuous flow.
• Inspect and adjust carton orientation as needed; unclog jams and monitor re-circulation lanes.
• Pickup damaged cartons and place them back on the conveyor; document conveyor counts and issues.
