Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Sort Deck Operator for our Distribution Center to ensure continuous conveyor movement and safe, compliant operation. The role requires inspecting equipment, unclogging jams, and coordinating with multiple teams to keep lines running smoothly.

This position demands bilingual English/Spanish communications and the ability to use a walkie-talkie. Familiarity with Google Workspace is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Ability to use a walkie-talkie.
• Some proficiency with Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

Responsibilities

• Inspect and ensure conveyor system operation; identify stoppages and rectify using the conveyor computer system.
• Unclog jams and monitor product flow through the DC conveyor system.
• Maintain clean equipment and floors; dispose of trash daily as directed.
• Communicate via radio with departments about freight issues; document counts and problems.
