Job summary

Lee Construction Group in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join our in-person safety team. You will develop and implement safety programs, conduct site inspections, and lead incident investigations to improve health and safety across our projects.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or construction management, 3–5 years of safety management experience, and strong communication skills in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field required; CSP/CHST/OSHA 30 preferred.
• 3–5 years of construction safety management experience with OSHA knowledge.
• Strong communication, training, and leadership skills with frontline engagement.

Responsibilities

• Safety Program Development: Create and implement safety programs in line with OSHA/ANSI standards.
• Site Inspections: Regular safety audits on construction sites for compliance.
• Risk Assessment: Identify hazards and develop mitigation plans.
• Training & Education: Deliver safety training and PPE procedures.
• Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with safety regulations and reports.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop response plans and train staff.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers to integrate safety into operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Recommend safety improvements from field feedback.
