Job summary

Project Access in San Jose, CA, is recruiting for a full-time Resident Services role to empower residents in affordable housing communities through engagement, workshops, and partnerships. You will deliver core topics, manage volunteers, and coordinate with property management to ensure consistent program delivery.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and experience in housing or social services.

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience in multi-family housing or related fields; or a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
  • Experience in after-school programs or educational settings for youth.
  • Serving diverse populations with cultural competency and community awareness.
  • Proficient with MS Office; Basic with Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Salesforce, Concur.
  • Strong time management, administrative, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement core programs across four initiatives: Economic Stability, Education for Youth & Families, Health & Wellness, and Community Building.
  • Conduct outreach and survey resident needs through community engagement aligned with four pillars.
  • Plan, prepare, and facilitate resident-facing workshops and group sessions; deliver topics when partners are unavailable.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local providers to deliver services and workshops.
  • Plan and facilitate community-building events to foster safe, meaningful relationships.
  • Provide residents with information and referrals to access community resources and nonprofit partners.
  • Support food distribution needs including maintaining food bank partnerships and distribution management.
  • Build strong relationships with property management and schedule regular communications.
  • Organize monthly outreach (door-to-door, digital, and on-site presence).
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and interns at the Resource Center.
  • Use vehicle to acquire program supplies and attend offsite meetings; mileage reimbursed.
  • Publish monthly newsletters and calendars of events.
  • Collect program outcomes data, focusing on social impact data.
  • Contribute to budgets for resident service programs, including contractor funds when needed.
