Job summary

Avanath is seeking a Leasing Specialist in an affordable housing community. You will lease, market, and maintain positive resident relations while upholding Fair Housing and company policies.

The role requires professionalism, strong communication, and the ability to work with residents and staff, including vendor partners and social services. Qualifications

• 2+ years of sales and/or customer relations experience.
• Low-income housing and tax credit experience is highly desired.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) highly desired.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
• Solid computer knowledge, Windows (Word, Excel), internet, and e-mail.
• Working knowledge of Yardi Voyager Property Management software.

Responsibilities

• Greet and qualify all prospects.
• Record all telephone and in-person visits on guest cards.
• Inspect models and communicate service needs to Community Manager.
• Demonstrate community features and close the sale.
• Have the prospect complete the application and secure a deposit.
• Update availability report and process applications for approvals.
• Ensure the apartment is ready for move-in on the agreed date.
• Follow up with prospects and refer to sister communities if needed.
• Secure new resident signatures and orient new residents.
• Assist in monitoring renewals and distribute renewal notices.
• Type lease agreements and input data into Yardi.
• Maintain resident files and distribute notices.
