Qualifications

• Certificate Nurse Aide or two to four years college, post-high school training required.
• Minimum two years of experience in a medical or human service environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology; experience with telephone triage preferred.
• Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to patient population.

Responsibilities

• Answers and triages calls politely and identifies self by name, position and team.
• Assesses nature of calls and transfers as needed, or to voicemail.
• Retrieves reports and updated information for patient visits.
• Schedules patient appointments for labs, follow-ups and same-day visits.
• Cross-trains with MA’s to follow up on no-shows and assist triage RN.
• Opens, triages, and sorts mail as directed by Team Leader Nurse.
• May perform minor clinical tasks such as measuring vitals or Snellen exams.
