Job summary

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation seeks a bilingual paraprofessional to assist certified staff in English and Spanish classrooms. The role focuses on reinforcing reading, language arts and math, with supervision of students during non-instructional times and field trips.

The successful candidate will hold an Associate degree or 48 college credits with ParaPro assessment, native Spanish preferred, and assist with curriculum support, record-keeping and parent communication.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or 48 hours of college credit required; ParaPro assessment may be required.
• Native Spanish speaker preferred.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in English and Spanish to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and follow assigned programs.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills per student needs.
• Help with record-keeping to document student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Assist students in non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus duty, playground, and study hall.
• Accompany students on field trips to assist with supervision.
• Assist with parent contact as requested to foster involvement in education.
• Support students with disabilities to maximize participation and learning.
