Voices College-Bound Language Academies seeks an Associate Teacher (Paraprofessional) to support bilingual (Spanish/English) instruction and student progress in a classroom setting.

The role involves assisting the certified teacher, managing behavior, and providing targeted instruction to diverse learners. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant coursework, with strong communication in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required with one of the following options.
• Two years of college (48 units) acceptable.
• A.A. degree (or higher) acceptable.
• Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting instruction.
• B- or higher in English, Math, or Writing/Literacy in college coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in managing student behavior to keep students engaged and learning.
• Provide individualized and small-group instruction per teacher direction.
• Support students with special needs according to IEPs and available services.
• Motivate students to develop foundational skills for elementary education.
• Collaborate with teachers, consultants, and principal to improve instructional practices.
• Tutor students as directed and track student progress.
• Participate in professional development and school activities.
• Assist with duties like cafeteria, yard duty, and supervision as needed.
