Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a full-time Child Protective Services Worker in Clackamas to safeguard the safety and well-being of Oregon’s children and support families through assessments and casework. You will engage with children, families, and partners, document findings, and participate in court proceedings while applying equity and culturally informed practices.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Degree must be completed: Bachelor’s in Human Services or related field, or an unrelated bachelor’s with specified experience/certification.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Wellbeing: ensure child safety and well-being.
• Engagement with children, families, resource parents, and caregivers to promote safety and outcomes.
• Assessment and Interviews: conduct assessments and fact-finding interviews related to child safety and risk.
• Strategies: develop multi-level strategies leveraging family strengths.
• Decision-Making: analyze information to determine child safety.
• Communication: prepare reports, case notes, testify in court, and communicate with diverse populations.
