Southern Oregon Head Start is seeking a Center Assistant to foster nurturing relationships with children aged birth to 5 and to support classroom teams in a developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role emphasizes safety, family communication, and adherence to Head Start standards.

Responsibilities span center support, nutrition services, and collaboration with teachers. A high school diploma is required; CPR/First Aid and CDA/Oregon Registry Step 8+ are preferred.

Formación

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDA or Oregon Registry enrollment at Step 8 or above preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Work with classroom teams to ensure all services for enrolled children.
• Provide backup for classroom staff and kitchen staff.
• Assist with curriculum implementation and activities.
• Perform routine classroom tasks and follow Child Guidance procedures.
• Support the classroom during teacher absences and inform teachers of concerns.
• Prepare nutritious meals and supervise serving while meeting safety standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety protocols and document meal counts and temperatures.
• Communicate with staff, parents, and transportation needs as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; provide bilingual communication support.
