Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certificate or 1 year referral coordinator experience may substitute for MA certificate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a diverse environment.
• One-year experience in a community clinic or medical office.
• Familiar with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and process medical referrals to ensure timely access to specialty and ancillary care.
• Schedule appointments with external providers and communicate with partners.
• Obtain, track, and manage pre-authorizations per payer requirements.
• Maintain accurate referral documentation and patient tracking systems.
• Provide appointment reminders and ensure patients have required documentation.
