Job summary

Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation in Chicago, IL is seeking a Bilingual Assistant Property Manager for Affordable Housing. The role focuses on occupancy management, tenant recertifications, and subsidy processing within Section 8 housing.

The position requires the ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks, strong leadership, and customer service skills. Eligible for a full-time role with benefits and a focus on compliance and tenant relations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years of related property management experience.
• Experience with HUD, LIHTC, Affordable Housing and Section 8 preferred.
• Must possess or obtain an Illinois Leasing Agent license within 90 days of employment; a valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure and carry-out all duties related to annual and interim tenant recertifications, including inspections and follow-ups.
• Maintain and carry-out the application and leasing process, from screening applicants to move-ins, to maintain occupancy.
• Process subsidy payments from HUD for tenant subsidy portions and transmit TRACS to HUD/IHDA; troubleshoot TRACS transmissions.
• Handle special claims for vacant units and coordinate with Leasing Agent for move-out dates.
• Maintain paper and electronic documents and records per funder/regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate unit transfers and ensure adherence to transfer policies; update transfer lists.
• Oversee processing of lease additions and tenant move-ins/move-outs; document damages and coordinate with maintenance.
